Boy Meets World Postcard By. A Moment In Subtext Shawn had been having a. . .well, you could call it a good day, but neither was it bad. It was actually an average day, which was the strangest kind to one such as him. He walked into the living room of the trailer and sat down in a chair to watch television. Before he'd picked up the remote, though, his eyes landed on the box of letters from his mother. Before, they'd been a symbol of hope for him, now they only depressed him. Then he saw something that hadn't been there before, a scrap of color he'd overlooked on the table. He picked it up and scanned the front carefully. It was a picture of a beautiful sunset pastel gold and orange over the water. In one corner was the word 'Philidalphia' in flowing, printed script. Curiously, he turned it over to reveal his fathers just barely legible writing. As he deciphered the chickenscrath words, a grin spread across his face. He set the card down on the table where he'd found it and turned to embrace his father. 'Shawnie, I know nothin' can compete with all them letters yer mum sent, but ya said ya wanted a postcard. . .'
