Eureka Memoir of a Former Delinquent By. A Moment In Subtext Zoe Carter remembers deciding to go back to her father and the quirky town of Eureka not as an actual decision, but as a moment of clarity when she realized that she belonged there. She remembers trying for days to scrape together the money to get there on her own, but bus tickets cost more than she was able to get, and she was beginning to feel desperate. She remembers think that her plan was going to blow up in her face, but it didn't, and she'd gone on with her life and nearly forgotten it by the time karma caught up to her. She remembers her father yelling, and thinking that it was going to be the last day she spent in Eureka, and she was a rebellious child and felt the need for it to be on her own terms. She remembers knowing she was wrong when her father and Stark had come after her and her friend Callister, and she had seen the look in his eyes when he brought her back. She remembers red hair, and shouting, and bus tickets, and stolen credit cards, and when the day was finally over, Zoe Carter remembers being happy.
